MISSION STATEMENT
TQ VIEWS will become the primary vehicle for promoting our virtual audience and we'll be encouraging more direct contributors to come on board.
TQ ANNEX will be used in lieu of but in conjunction with twitter and facebook to provide a vehicle for direct communication. You'll see what I mean as I use it for those purposes.
TQ ARTS, TQ PIX and TQ RETRO will remain, for now, as they've been.
RED JANE BIRD will take over our National and International news offerings, as always, from what some would call a "sinister" angle.
TQ YAYAS will still be music central but hopefully I can convince my grand-children to take over the reins and reduce my septuagenarian workload. We'll see.

Saturday songs for Baby Boomers Posted: 23 Feb 2013 02:41 PM PST Those of you who fit a certain age demographic as I do, probably remember that early morning Saturday television consisted of cartoons, but as the day went on, we visited the Old West. There were shows about kids and their dogs, kids and their horses, masked heroes, western heroes and their sidekicks, and loners who aimed to bring law and order to the wild, wild west. Somehow, we were able to see good guys and bad guys, and we knew the difference. No one felt obliged to go out and have a shoot-em-up in real life. Fantasy and reality were distinct. As I was recalling some of the old western shows, I started to think about the theme songs, those catchy tunes that signaled that your favorite cowboy or other western hero was "on the air." There were so many great examples, so I thought I would choose a few and put them into a short video. I mostly included just snippets of the songs, but it will be enough to make anyone who shares these memories nostalgic. So, return with me now, "to those thrilling days of yesteryear." Enjoy. |

Ashley Monroe - You Ain’t Dolly (And You Ain’t Porter) Lyrics
Ashley Monroe ft. Blake Shelton - You Ain’t Dolly (And You Ain’t Porter) Lyrics
Chorus:
You ain’t Dolly,
And you ain’t Porter
She’s a little bit fuller,
And you’re a whole lot shorter
Let’s dance all night,
An fill the jukebox full of quarters
Cause you ain’t Dolly,
No, and you ain’t Porter
Verse 1:
Well, I notice you right off the bat in those cowboy boots
Who couldn’t help but see you in that Rime Stone suit
That’s cause I’m the reigning queen of Karaoke night
Well if I drunk enough to sing, hell I just might
Hey now, don’t you worry cowboy, cause I’ll get you through
We’ll sing the cheating song, just like they used to do
Chorus:
Cause you ain’t Dolly,
And you ain’t Porter
She’s a little bit fuller,
Yeah, but you’re a whole lot shorter
Let’s dance all night,
An fill the jukebox full of quarters
Cause you ain’t Dolly,
No, and you ain’t Porter
Verse 2:
You’ll probably see me country singing on The Voice someday
Yeah and I’m the guy they wrote about in 50 Shades of Grey
Why don’t you come on back to my place, and have your way
oh baby that sounds tempting, but I just can’t stay
Oh, we won first á¹—rize cowboy, let’s just split the dough
Honey I will always love you, but we’ll never know
Chorus:
Cause you ain’t Dolly,
And you ain’t Porter
She’s a little bit fuller,
Yeah, but you’re a whole lot shorter
Let’s dance all night,
An fill the jukebox full of quarters
Cause you ain’t Dolly,
No, and you ain’t Porter
No, you ain’t Dolly
And you ain’t Porter
OneRepublic - What You Wanted Lyrics
I'll find the places where you hide
I'll be the dawn on your worst night
Only thing left in one life
I would kill for you that's right
If that's what you wanted
If that's what you wanted
If that's what you wanted
If that's what you wanted
I'll put your poison in my veins
They say the best love is insane
I'll light your fire till my last day
I'll let your fields burn around me , around me
I'll run now, this time
Oh, my love is true
Tell me, something that I wouldn't do.
If that's what you wanted
If that's what you wanted
If that's what you wanted
If that's what you wanted
